50CalJim shot an elk just like that calf in MT in 2007. That calf might be bigger. :chuckle:

ive never hunted elk before , but why do they have all those tags on them and collars

Benbo, the tags are animals that have had blood drawn or dna work.  The other leather collars are radio transmitters so the bio's can monitor the heards.

Yeah I shot a pretty small calf but at least it didn't have spots. Tell everybody about your Elk Wea300Mag.

Ya they are legal. If you shoot one you have to contact WDFW and turn in the radio collar, I think you can keep the other collars though.......... ??

I was over there about 3 years ago and they actually had 3 spotted calfs in there.  Very cool to see.

Pretty neat seeing picks of that little calf.  I hope it makes it through the winter.  havn't seen one that tiny this late.
