Guide or Attacks

I'm stuck between the attacks or the guide pants I will be buying guide jacket for sure but can't make my mind up on the pants I hunt archery elk   modern deer on the wet side then Montana late November when its in the teens in the morning and forty fifty's in the afternoon typicaly just wondering your guys opinions

Activity level? If you're a hiker layer with merino and get the attacks, still hunt or low activity go with the guide. Used my attacks on my late November hunt last year (high activity) high 20s low to mid 30s and was fine. If you have rain gear you can wear just go with attacks as the rain gear can gi E the extra if needed.

I wear the Attacks from summer to late season. I wear base layers underneath when it gets cold. I've never worn the guides, but based on my guide jacket, I think they would be too warm.

I recommend the Attacks for the summer or in areas with any heat, and Guides for the cooler stuff.  The Guides have a thin fleece backer so you may want to order one size up.  Mine fit a little small so I had to upsize one so they fit correctly.  If you wear the Guides in the summer you're going to be miserable.

I'd try a pair of Alpines if the knee pads weren't sewn in.  I think that would drive me nuts most of the time.  I tried knee pads one day in a pair of Mountain pants and couldn't stand the way it felt hiking. Especially uphill.

To the OP, I'd go Attack and layer with merino if extra warmth is needed.

Ive got both and i find myself wearing the guide pants more. The guide pants have side vents you can unzip if you get too hot. The attacks are great too but wont be enough in chilly temps even with a base layer if your not moving around.  I think the guide pants are better all around if thats what you're looking for. Both awesome pants though.

I'm not planning on wearing the pants on the early hunts Im leaning towards the windy rainy cold days I like those side vents and pockets on those guides  I do a lot of hiking decisions decisions I'd did just pick up two sets of military ECWCS in the polar weight

I have both and the attacks are great but they are made with a little looser knit material so if you are west side hunting in the fall they do snag quite a bit on the blackberry bushes. I use them for summer, fall and early winter pants and just layer. The guides are tighter knit and have the liner so don't snag much but are much warmer. The guides are also much more water resistant than the attacks. I usually just end up wearing attacks with the yukon gaiter and layers and works for most conditions.

I plan on ordering a set of guides, I have read all of you inputs and also looked at a few other posts.  I think I want something in my bag just in case we get another season like late season 2 years ago.  Also on a side note, I got my alpine's in today.  Walked around a little bit and could hardly notice the pads.  I set up for shots a lot from the kneeling position as I feel this helps break up my outline a little more and I can draw inside my body hiding that a little too, and these are exactly what I wanted.  I am new to KUIU gear and have been deliberating purchasing higher end gear for a while now.  I am really pleased so far.

What size Alpines did you order and are they true to size? I've read that they may be running a size big? Should a 33" waist order the 32 or 34?

I'd order a 34. I wear anywhere between a 32-34 depending on brand in normal clothes. I went with 34 in alpine and tiburon pants and the 34's fit me perfect. You can always wear a belt/tuck in layers. But if they're too tight, well that just sucks.

I have the Guide and Tiburon pants.  Wore both last year, the Tiburons during early season archery and the Guides tagging along with some friends during late muzzy.  The Guides would be way too hot to wear during September even with side vents.  The Tiburons worked great for me, the dot air let the slightest breeze in to keep me cool.  A great early season pant IMO, only concern is durability while busting brush, did plenty of that last year but they seemed to hold up well.  Bought a pair of First Lite Kanabs to try this year, looking forward to putting them to the test.

Regardless of what you get, I'd get an order in Asap. (If u haven't already/anyone else) I just got a confirmation for the guide pants, which I've had on order for a couple months now. Still waiting on the attacks too.

If you want something, get it on backorder now. Don't wait for it to come in stock, cuz it may never. At least this season.

I was on another forum and a guy said he has been waiting several months for his attacks .   maybe I might just go with some CORE4 but haven't really heard good or bad reviews

I got core4 stuff last year. And am now getting kuiu. I didn't like the fit of any of the core4 pants. Very saggy in the crotch...  The fit with the kuiu pants is awesome.

The core4 top layers are great tho if you're looking for any of those. I just didn't like any of the pants.

Well decided to go with the guide pants  jacket  peloton top and merino top and bottom everything is on backorder except for the merino.     Wolfdog how did your core4 stuff hold up

The core4 held up fine. Pants took a beating and held up well as far as SW wa blackberry areas. Like I said tho I didn't enjoy the pants at all. All the tops and merino wool is great. Torrent rain gear is pretty light. Kept me dry but didn't breath the greatest. Could just be me super sweaty tho. The element pants were the only pants that fit OK.

I just got my pair of Tiburon pants. Not as soft of material as I thought they would be, but super stoked to try em out this early season! I found them to almost run a little small too. I'm a 34-36. I ordered the 36 and they fit a Little snug.
