Moose is the one big game animal I've always wanted to chase mate, good luck I'll be watching this thread.

I wonder if non US citizens can apply? If so I reckon I might start getting some points!

I am sure Washington would take your money for the moose draw.  Check your odds first, yikes, and our new friends the wolves are taking more than their share.  My 50" bull was from BC, look into that.  Pricey now days, guide required but being from down under you might be able to make a better deal than a USA citizen.

Where were these photos taken, Miles? Looks like somewhere around Moosehead Lake, maybe the Golden Road? Looks like land cut off by a paper mill company.

Thanks for the advice mate 👍.

Personally I'd rather a self guided 35" bull than a guided 60" bull. I just love the challenge above anything.

Nothing against guided hunts at all, in fact I guide in Australia a little. I have just always felt that the effort in getting your goal animal is the measure of the trophy, inches of bone are just a number.

South of Moosehead lake.  I have the tag for WMD 12 (one of three given to nonresidents).  It is a paper company clearcut and I believe this picture was on Wagner land.

What units are you familiar with?  Dad's bull (pictures are on page 3 or 4 of this thread) was taken in WMD 7.  Not far from moosehead lake.

Got this guy on camera a couple days ago.  While dad and a friend were checking the cams today they saw one quite a bit bigger.  Long paddles and high 50's for spread.  Let's hope we can find them in two more weeks.

My almost 80 yr old father and my brother-in-law filled their tag. They were drawn for WMD #4 and took the bull on the 3rd day of their hunt.

Beautiful animal. What a great family adventure.

Thank you.  I'm all packed up and will be heading to the airport in the morning.  Cell phone reception is pretty much non existent where I'm headed.  I'll put an update here when I make it back to town.  The season is Oct 10 -  15th, and I'll be in the woods until I get one or the season ends.
