So guys it looks to me like there are no cow tags to compete with on this hunt and they don't let spike hunters in for the first week of the season so the only people the lucky 3 of us will be sharing the unit with is the deer hunters, is this the case? I know I deer hunted this area one year about 6 years ago and only saw maybe 2 other guys deer hunting, and they were both riding 4 wheelers on the road around the border of the unit. Can't imagine a bunch of deer hunters in there.

I don't believe how many people that are in the unit will be the issue. IMO it is how many people will be driving around up there. The traffic is horrible, and with the road ringing the top of the unit I believe it affects the animals.

I'm sure there are many good hunters here that know the Wenaha, but
having spent an hour or two in the elk woods with NWHunter in a couple different states I can honestly say I would listen with your ears wide open to him.
He knows the Wenaha and will give you straight up advice........................Period.

As far as what bull to shoot you must make sure you are happy and proud of your choice.
Some guys enjoy the hunt so much they would rather hunt till the last day unless they kill a monster. Other guys want to kill a bull no matter what. Only you can decide this one as you must live with your choices and everyone's critique of your choices.
Either way only take clean, ethical, kill shots.
No regrets.

If you become frustrated DO NOT TAKE IT OUT ON A LESSER BULL!!!
Cuss, yell, spin in circles, fall down, and shoot an arrow into a tree but do not shoot a dink in the bottom of mother natures hell hole.

My 2cents.

Does wdfw still send you a permit or any paperwork in the mail if you draw a permit?

It is always good to set goals for your hunt. I scouted a bunch when I drew a tag a new what I wanted to hold out for.I went with the one that got me excited at that point it didn't matter what it scored.
If the summer is really dry over there doesn't that have a big effect on how big they will get? I have heard when they have droughts the last few points turn out pretty weak?

I don't think any of those go over 350".

I'd still probably shoot that second one though.

That second one is a stud for sure! A little weak up top but not too bad, and only on the one side. I think I'd have to shoot him!

Yep he's a freak.  Best take him out of the gene pool just to be safe!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

You'd have to be silly to pass on the second one id guess he's over 350. That first bull should get an arrow too imo
