Congrats and welcome to the forum. Getting a sheep will be no problem, getting a sheep that makes the internet experts happy will be tough. Enjoy the hunt the way you to and be happy with what you get. Don't let anyone bring you down. I am sure you will get some great advice and help.

Good luck and enjoy.

Congrats!
My advice is if you want to shoot it with a bow, get snake boots! My buddy drew that tag and had several bow shots that got blown due to snakes. He finally couldn't take it anymore and shot one with his rifle.

Be ready for anything...some years they are right close to the roads, and some years the big rams are up high in timber, on the move, or just plain hard to find because they are moving around so much.

Cost of getting advise on this forum is you have to post pictures and a story after the premier WA sheep hunt is over.  Good luck and congratulations!!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Not sure you need any more advice than this right here.  Plus what I said before, be happy with what you shoot and don't let anyone bring you down.  This will probably be the biggest (only) sheep you ever shoot.

Use your baseball time to learn as much as you can online about judging trophy quality - but don't get hung up on score.  One of the happiest hunters I ever spoke with from the Swakane killed a small ram.  Depends on how much time and effort you can/want to put in - there is great color variation in the rams, decide if you prefer broomed or unbroomed, mass or length, etc.

Lots of folks can give you some pointers on where to look for rams when the season opens.  Aaron Roth at HOT, Dan Yedinak at 4-point, the game bios at the Wenatchee District office, Popeshawnpaul, Huntinphool, Provider, GurrCentral on here.  There is also a short, chubby gamie with the initials GG who tends to keep an eye on those sheep.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I agree 100% with doublelung, what i remember the most about my chelan hunt was all the people before, during and after, they made my time the best. I also did my reseach with on line picture's and that helped alot. I helped a couple days last season with the chelan butte hunter too, it gets in your blood.
Day starts with the wind in your face.

It can be a tough hunt.  One nice one and a bunch of good ones in there now.  Spend a bunch of time looking at sheep so you know what your looking at when you pull the trigger.

Feel free to get in touch.  I had the tag in 2012 and spent 18 days scouting the unit before opening day.  You're going to want to know every ram in the unit and the habits and location of the biggest.  I had accounted for ~42 of them.  There are a lot of places to glass from and I can give you a map with those spots.  You will definitely need a good spotting scope.  Lots of time will help, too!
This is the best California Bighorn tag there is, give it everything you've got.

Here was my experience: http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php?topic=132352.0
