Moose OIL for Bull & Cow.....??.....Poll
« on: June 14, 2015, 11:51:08 AM »
Some folks just want to hunt a moose, antlers are not important to them.....

So say there are 2 separate categories,      Bull  and   Antlerless.

You could apply in one or both .....BUT, if all moose was OIL(cow or bull, you kill 1 moose, you are done for good in WA ST)
Would you apply in the antlerless moose category???????

I know what your poll is supposed to mean, but you need to reword it. Doesn't make sense. How you worded it, yes I would apply for both. As you make it seem, you would have an OIL antlerless category, and OIL bull category.

If you got 10 years added to your draw points if you gave up your general deer or elk tag would you ?

......and more funny questions...  :dunno:

I think I get your question? I would not apply for cow moose hunts if it was the only moose I could harvest in my lifetime. I would apply only for bull hunts!

Bold is correct, Wanting to know how many would do this. I know there are people who want to hunt moose, not antlers.

Poll results will show in 5 days.

What's confusing about your poll is that, at least to me, I'm not sure if you're saying the anterless category will be once in a lifetime, and the "any moose" category will be once in a lifetime, but you can still draw both.  Or, are you saying you would only be allowed to draw a moose tag out of one of those categories, and then you're done?  (not even sure if what I said made sense)

 :yeah:

I answered yes thinking this was the question.   I would buy both if I could harvest both.  I would not buy the cow if that ended my chances at a bull.

According to your revised poll, yes. I want every chance at moose meat I can get. It's basically no different than it is now, except the cow tag isn't OIL. For many, it might as well be considered OIL, because your odds aren't much better then drawing an any moose tag.  :twocents:

I would apply for both and use the first one I got! Why limit yourself?...you may never get drawn.  I have been applying for both and any moose was the first I got selected on. Unless I get skunked this will end my Washington moose quest. If I would have drawn a cow tag knowing that could be the only moose I could get in my lifetime in Wa, I would take the cow. Just my  :twocents:

I would apply for both and would be happy with a cow moose as my OIL.

Under this scenario I would only apply for the bull permit.
