Lighting question for trophy room
« on: June 14, 2015, 12:57:52 PM »
Is florescent OK for a trophy room????  or will it fade the hides / horns.  I know UV light is bad for hides and just want to make sure I put appropriate lighting in my trophy room.

Thanks

If I ever find a new place and am able to build a dedicated trophy room it will have Eco-Lamps.  LED lamps produce very little infrared light and dang near zero ultraviolet light.  They also radiate almost zero heat.  There are cheaper versions besides Eco-Lamp, but if I'm dreaming I might as well dream of the best.  And so far those are the best I've found.

LED lightning doesn't contain uv and would work a lot better than flourescent in my opinion.  Here is a 4" led can I did a couple weeks ago.  Your trophy room is probably way more impressive than mine.
