That is a very good video. You were truly able to capture what hunting is all about. Most men don't like to show emotion because it's not the macho thing to do, but killing these magnificent animals is an emotional experience. They deserve our respect and you showed that here. Congrats on a great hunt with family and fine moose. Thank you for sharing.

Scouted the unit earlier this year thanks to a friend that I met on the forum. Got a feel for how the unit was situated but only saw one moose on that trip. Showed up two days before season to set up camp and scout things out during the rut hoping to find a bull or two worthy of going after. Didn't see anything that really interested me but did tell a 88 year tag holder where a med sized bull was hanging out close to the road hoping it would work out for him. We decided to hike into an area on opening day to avoid the mass of moose hunters that hang out in the most popular spot. We were at our spot in the truck a couple hours before light hoping to have the spot to ourselves. We started hunting at first light and decided to split up to cover as much area as possible. My son and his friend found what looked like a good bull and told us to meet up with them. Less than an hour into season and we already found a bull worth taking a good look at. After getting a good look at him from about a mile away we decided to at least get a lot better look. An hour later we were within 350 yards but the wind wasn't very good and we couldn't get a really good look. We decided that we had too many guys to move in any closer. I grabbed my son and said lets go! We left the rest of the guys there waiting while we spent two hours within 300 yards of the bull without any good shot opportunities. It must have seemed like an eternity beings they couldn't see anything. We had one of the guys behind us start to rake trees to get the bull up and moving. He really didn't want to leave his cow. We'd move to try and get a shot and he'd move again. Every time wed work a little closer as he worked our direction as well. He finally moved into a spot that didn't have very much brush but he was looking right at us. We waitied for about ten minutes until he finally turned and we move to the right about five feet and had a clear shot. First shot was good but he didn't drop. Second shot and he dropped. He didn't go five yards from first shot and piled up. I've never been close to an animal of that size. He was easily 1200 lbs. We saw a couple other bull shot in the 36" range but the body size on my bull was over twice the size. Needless to say I was glad for the help at that point. I'd like to thank Bowhunter 2476 for all his help in scouting, calling, and packing. He went above and beyond what was asked of him. I definitely made a new friend! Thanks to Streak, Pat, Justin, Lance , and Kodie for all of their help with glassing and packing. I couldn't have pulled it off without you guys. Hopefully I'll be able to post pics soon. I've spent the last two nights trying to figure it out. Bear
