There were "any deer" permits covering multiple GMUs in 2007.

Perhaps someone needs to backpeddle first?

Technically he's right... that said any whitetail. Not any deer. :chuckle: if I back pedal I'll trip. :chuckle:

Let's go the bobber. If you're referring to an any whitetail deer tag to an any deer tag then you're a lot less intelligent than I thought. :dunno:  If you read through every post on this topic you'd know that.

You'll never see me trip. You can count on that.  You might find it funny, but this guy is caught up in a couple either lies, or misunderstandings which apparently lead to the harvest of a deer of what he's saying is correct. Like I said, I'm sure the back pedaling will begin like it normally does when somebody gets caught up biting off more than they can chew by posting on public forums. :twocents:

I don't really think what he did was funny. I was adding a little levity to the situation. Besides, it's been eight years so the statute of limitations is up for any crime he may have committed.

There were "any deer" permits covering multiple GMUs in 2007.

I posted HUNT #1028 which as Bob33 posted the regulations it says "ANY WHITE TAILED DEER". I said I shot "A DOE" a few hours before the season closed. I never said I shot a Mule Deer. Your trying to stir up an argument. Further...you said there was never any "ANY DEER" tags and essentially insinuated I'm an idiot. And who is eating crow right now MtnMuley? Does it taste good?

I think Bob33 pretty much ended the argument by posting the 2007 regulations. Go enjoy that crow now and buh bye...

Maybe they will have hunt choice #666 "ANY CROW". Be sure and apply...

You drew a whitetail tag in western GMU's of the county. That's a lot different than the tag the OP drew, hence the confusion to saying you drew the same tag and shot a doe. Also, I was confused with the OP drawing the Pogue tag and you saying you hunted the "fire lines".  You must have been in a different GMU, because the Pogue didn't have fire lines in 07, from the Tripod.

My tag was not a white tail only tag. It was "any deer". It essentially the same hunt as the original poster, except I could shoot any deer and hunt multiple GMUs.

The Tri-Pod fire started July 4th 2006 via lightning. Our family resort was evacuated in Conconully. The lake reservoir water was used to help put out the fire. Fire lines were cut all over the backside of Baldy Mtn. We have been snow mobiling and hunting them for years. They were cut it when the wind shifted out of fear the fire would race down the backside of the mountain and burn down Conconully. Perhaps you have not hunted much around that part of the Pogue. They are there or I wouldn't of posted it. Good place to hunt for somebody that does not want to go to far into the back country. I drew my tag the year after the big fire (2007) and had success. Had I had more time to hunt, I would have got a nice buck. I only hunted the last Saturday and Sunday of the season. Sunday was the last day.

I'll eat crow after you answer this question: Right here, you said you didn't draw a whitetail only tag. :dunno:

What resort do you guys own? Perhaps LIARS Cove??..........
