What trail cam so you all is the best, keeping $$ in mind. Most bang for the buck?

I haven't purchased any cameras recently and I don't have experience with every brand. But of the cameras I've used, I'd say for $74 the Primos Ultra Truth Cam 35 gives you a lot of bang for your buck. I don't know that it's the "best" but it's compact, easy on batteries, fast trigger, very simple to use, etc, I just don't know if it can be beat for the price.

I had really bad luck with those, maybe your experience will differ.

After a few months I'd get an SD card read error.  Picture quality was fine, but they would eventually just not be usable anymore.  Happened to all of the ones I owned (like 3).

The two that I've been using have been out year around and have worked flawlessly. I've had them for a year and a half. Not one issue and they take tons of pictures. If it's a concern, buy them from Walmart online and buy the extended warranty for $7.

Cabelas has the bushnell trophy cam 8 mega pixel on sale for $109 right now. I bought one yesterday and going to go buy another today. That will give me 4 of them. The other 2 have been out year round for 2 years now. Have changed the batteries out once. The reason I bought one yesterday is because I bought a browning a month ago and had it up. The infra red did not work at all. Also I beleive it wasnt taking as many pictures as my bushnell that I moved from that spot. It had twice as many. I was not impressed with the browning either. Right out of the box the cheap clip thing used for tightening to the tree was not assembled correctly and broke. Also the clasp to open the cam is very easy to open. Like bump the back of the clasp and it pops open. If a bear even touched it, it would have been trashed. I have a primos also. Its not bad but my bushnells blow it out of the water in ever way. The primos gets put where its possible someone might steal a cam.

thanks for all of the info. Looks like a lot of mixed reviews, might have a harder decision to make than I thought! :dunno:

Best thing to do is buy one of each and decide for yourself which one is best.

I think the next camera I buy will be a WGI after all the praise from you. I've had four in the past, three of which have died. One is still going strong. It takes great videos. I don't use it for photos too often because it doesn't do a multi-shot burst. Just one picture at a time with a 15 second delay.
