Almost ready to shoot

i was dreading to hear how much that rig would weigh in at. thats a beautiful gun, but too heavy for me.

It is going to be a hunting gun. I just need to start lifting weights so I can pack it around all season. 

Eberlestock brotha... EBERLESTOCK!!!  

AOD and I both shoot the same rifle... infact, AODs is pretty much identical to the one antlershed is rolling now. We packed ours all over hell and back hunting both deer and bears this year, both of them spent a lot of time in the scabard of our Eberlestocks. Mine ways about a pound less because I'm running the old style Sendero stock and Tally's... but it's still 10+ pounds. The way I see it is... I could afford to lose about 40 pounds around the middle... so leaning out the rifle is a bit like selling the car for gas money.

  I will look into those packs. I actually put it over my shoulder and it doesn't feel too bad, but I'm sure that can change after half a day.

Not only do they pack a big rifle well... but you can stuff half a bear in one too...

I haven't put a sling on a rifle in over two years now. I love the J104 (which they don't make anymore)... it makes a great pack even for those 2-day trips.

I also pack around a 300 rum in my eberlestock and it is the only way to go. Mine is a bdl so not quite as heavy. Get one.

i carry a stainless synthetic browning abolt in my eberlestock. it's a heavy rifle(not that heavy) and  i agree it is the only way to go for when you are on the move.
