Single Pin Sights

I want to get a single pin site that is easy to use while hunting. Do not want to unlock and lock when moving it. Just want to be able to move a dial quickly and easily when hunting. And do not want to spend a ton of money on it.

Any good suggestions?

You may want to shoot Mike....aka lostbackpacker....on here a PM. I know he has experience considering, installing, sigthing in, and hunting with a single pin. I think they are more ideal for 3d and personlly prefer a standard 5 pin sight for hunting.

I have an HHA in the classifieds that doesn't require locking down. Not sure how much you're looking to spend.

I have an HHA on my Bowtech and love it.  H20hunter is correct.  Good for still hunting in a stand or blind.  When I did some spot and stalking last year it was kind of a pain.  You could practice by putting your pin a 30 yards and Kentucky windage but I would have to do a lot of shooting to train my self not to look at the pin when not shooting at 30.  I put a MBG 3 pin adjustable on my Hoyt I just bought this year.  I like it so far.  Pins are set 20, 30, 40.  Then my 40 is my pin I use for going beyond 40.  I haven't sighted gotten beyond the 40 yet.

Way better for hunting than the Tommy IMO.  I took the Tommy and tore the thing apart.  Removed all the micro adjust parts and put it back together.  Basically made it a Heavy Eddie.  Could have saved me a bunch of money had I waited to get the wife's until after the Fast Eddie arrived.  Though she does have the three pin version so .  At half the weight it would be darn near perfect.

For the price Black Gold and HHA are both fine sights.  The new HHA is fantastic, but not what I would consider a budget sight.

I'm sure I'll hear some derision for this, but I've used the original Tru-Glo Range Rover for years. It's been discontinued, but you can still find them used. $40 is what I paid for my current one. It needs no lock down (but it does have a lock knob). It's plastic construction, but I've never cracked or hurt it hunting 50 days a year worth. It's simple and accurate enough for me: but I've only taken maybe 8 elk and 10 deer with it, so I don't have that much experience built up into it. Good luck in your decision.

Thanks all, I ordered the Black Gold Ambush and will give it a try. Will set up both my 5 pin and the new 1 pin and see which I'm more comfortable with come hunting season.I shoot someone else's bow with a single pin and my aging eyes really liked it.

I'm 55 and my visions not what it use to be. I had never thought I would like the single pin until I shot someone else's boy with a single pin and it was nice seeing the target better and more clear than with the multi pin sight. So I thought I would try it out. I still have a 5 pin sight I can put on if it doesn't work out.

OK, so I put on the single pin sight and really need to get used to moving it from one distance to another. I lost an arrow today because I buried it in the top of the target I was shooting at. It went about 3" through a 2x4 and another half inch of plywood. That was an expensive oops!I like the sight but need to use it for a while so I learn to pay more attention
