Wyoming moose unit 24
« on: June 19, 2015, 03:46:01 PM »
I drew the tag after 15 years of applying.  I've never hunted in that area, so if anyone knows that unit and has suggestions for good places to find moose, please send me a PM.  Thanks in advance.

I leave in two weeks, so I just thought I would bring it back up to the top to see if I can get any nibbles.  :chuckle:

#24 is about 30 miles south of Jackson on the east side of the Wyoming Range.

Best of luck buckblaster!  I'll be doing the same just north of you in a few weeks.
You will not have any problem finding moose.

Bondurant area then? that should be pretty easy I see moose all over when I'm down there fishing. The local gamey there is Bubba Haley out of the Pinedale office. you can probably call him and get some intel. I will call a few of my buddies from Pinedale,Big Piney, and Bondurant and let you know what I come up with.

Thanks longrange7mm, some up to date sightings for a good bull would be awesome.  I'll probably leave for my hunt on the 17th, just a little over a week away.

I saw 9 bulls in 5 days of the hunting, and Brutus here was the biggest.  Came home with 300 lbs of boned out meat.  Thanks to those who gave input for an area that I had never been before.  That was hands down the best hunt I have ever been on.

That's a great bull Buckblaster!  I was in and around your unit last week.  We saw about 10 bulls, but yours is bigger than anything I saw.  Lots of young bulls, we saw more moose this year than our prior three trips, they seem to be doing well.

Got this guy in the bottom of Sjhoberg Creek in N. Cottonwood, in the willow bottoms on day five of the hunt at daylight.  Thanks for your input WAcoueshunter for a unit that I have never been to before.  I passed on few smaller bulls in the unit, but knew this one was a keeper when I spotted him.  Again, thanks for your input.
