Ghost I would recommend at least 2 "break in burns" I only did one and it still have off an odor inside the the tent.  After the second I didn't notice much of a smell.  Perhaps my first wasn't long/hot enough.  Just a thought.

Heck you dont need to convince me to play with hunting camping stuff in the off season. Two burns it is.
When my wife asks me why am playing with the stove in 90 degrees ,I will show her your post.  :IBCOOL:

Another feature I liked. Just a little detail. The nesting stove pipes are engraved with the number of their order. Nice touch.

Made in the USA, nice choice. I really like the screen over the front dampers on the door. Wish my stove had that to keep embers from popping through. I have to put a piece of steel down under the front legs to keep the floor from getting burned.

I am still in the search as to floor protection. Guy on another thread bought a roll up hearth. Been looking for something like bq Matt. Have not made up my mind yet.

Good looking stove Ghost that thing is sweet! As far as options for a floor protector a roll up option would be nice. But I just use a piece of diamond plate my ol man had laying around from a different project. It slides under the rest of my stuff for easy storage in the truck and has worked well. And who doesn't like diamond plate?! Here's a pic from Montana last year. Let us know how the stove works this fall.

Going to do my break in burn starting Friday after work. Checked out the restrictions with city and county and got a green light.

Going to put it in the tent tonight first to figure out my floor plan and see how it looks.

Than pull it out for the break in burns. Going to keep I going all weekend to make sure its all ready to go this fall.

My buddy ordered a Four Dog for his same size tent.

What is it you ended up using for your roll up stove hearth? Setup looks sweet.

Well the best thing I found in my area was a BQ Mat at  Lowes . Which dose t roll up but lays flat in the bed of my truck.

It is fire and heat resistant and made o be used under all common BQ.

It smelled a little when I got it ,but left it out side and the smell went away.

My buddy bought the roll up kind with his stove. But says he is switching to what I have.

I might buy one more.

Just got mine the other day.  Four dog with table and water tank.  He sent me an extra set of 90 degree and one extra straight piece.  I called and he said consider it a gift and not to mail back.  I took that time to thank him for the craftsmanship and effort applied to his product.  He reciprocated.  Great company Great stoves!!

Great choice, you will love it.

For the burn in, don't do it in the tent as you will be burning stuff off the galvanized pipe you don't want to breathe.  Get it ripping hot until the pipe turns color about half way up.  I fed mine constantly for about 6-8 hours.  Once it gets going, there won't be much smoke at all but the thing will be cranking out heat like you can't believe.

The entire black part of the stove should turn a different color except a tiny part by each leg.
