Very happy that you didn't get the opportunity to show up at the local piercing parlor to show off a new arrow piercing! :yike:

Had it happen to me too with my first bow it was a browning timberwolf.  One of the cams had  exploded  and  and when it came back form browning it had a 30 inch draw instead of my 28 inch draw of course I didnt find that out til after i tried to shoot it. I was able to get it off my wrist without injury but let me tell you the pucker factor threw the roof!!!  glad your ok

That's the kind of thing that hurts even before it happens because you can see what's coming and can't do anything about it!
Ouch, glad it wasn't worse than it was.

how do you grab the wrong arrow? I keep all mine seperate  from the wifes, either in my quiver or arrow case. That would have been a bad day.

You do it by accident, I just got back to Virginia from my trip out to Idaho and had all my stuff stacked in a corner together, it's a long story, but my bow was stolen on my trip, I got a nice loaner bow that came with some arrows that were made for that bow.  I accidently got them mixed together, something that has since been sorted out.  :)

Glad your ok!     Anybody that uses a release should make up a false release that can not fire.  That way you can practice drawing and check arrow length and so on.  When I changed over to a release years ago, I drew my bow back and dry fired it and it blew up and cost me a lot of money to fix it.  I look back  and laugh at my self, but at the time it was not funny.

Good idea.  I post this story in hopes at least one person does not make the same mistake, because it might not end so well for them.  Most accidents happen because we get complacent or in a hurry.  In this case I was careless and almost paid a big price for it.

Glad you're OK, Fred. None of the rest of us have ever made mistakes like that!  :chuckle: I see a new thread category starting: Stupid SOB Mistakes. It would fill quickly.
