Because if he's walking around my house in full daylight, his very attitude poses a threat. There are no shortage of lions anywhere in the West. As a matter of fact, because lions are at or beyond carrying capacity in WA and OR, adolescent males are forced to find food in places where lions wouldn't normally live. These displaced and often starving adolescents are, in my humble opinion, the most dangerous lions around human habitation. Culling the population by killing animals around the house will not negatively affect their numbers in the least. I understand you might not agree. I'm good with that.

Why?  Really?   Lets see, reason 112, do we weait until he has a child in his grasp to defend the child?   That would be like asking a armed robber to let you go get your gun out of your safe and load it..

That cat would of been blasted all over that patio!! Just because our little people who wear suits support wildlife in crazy numbers dont mean we have to.

"Cougar, bobcat, and black bear are classified as game animals (WAC 232-12-007), and an open season and a hunting license are required to hunt them.  A property owner, the owner’s immediate family, owner’s documented employees, or tenants of real property may kill one big game animal on the property if the animals are in the physical act of attacking livestock or pets.  (WAC 232-36-051). No permit from WDFW is required. However, WDFW must be notified immediately upon taking one of these animals under these situations."

I think this is pretty standard across the states that have big cats.  If a cat is on my property (particularly on the deck/porch peering in the window), it's going down and going down fast.  Perhaps my firearm liability insurance will cover the cat's initial doctor bills, funeral costs, and follow on pain and suffering of his extended family   .  Yes, that cat would be getting lead poisoning quick if he were at my window.

Agree with RT & Piano. If that cat is coming that close during the day imagine what it would be up to at night around the house, neighbors, etc.

Gun or bow, whatever is closer is sending something to the boiler room.  Cat is way to close and way to calm trying to get thru that window.
