Compound bow rentals?
« on: June 21, 2015, 12:02:30 PM »
I have been toying with idea of getting into archery, specifically with compound bows, but would like to get some hands on experience before dropping several hundred dollars on equipment. Someone at cabelas had recommended that I go to the nock point saying that they rented bows, but apparently they only rent recurve bows. Anyone know if there is anywhere near Marysville that I could pay an equipment rental and/or range fee to spend a few hours with one or more compound bows so that I can decide if I really want to make the full investment to get into archery?  :dunno:

Go to a pro shop and shoot them.  They will let you shoot.

Would they really let me spend more than a couple minutes shooting one or more bows without being certain that I would purchase a bow the same day? If so, do you have any recommendations for a good pro shop around Marysville that would let me?

You could buy a used bow for a couple hundred and if you like it buy something better and if not sell it for what you paid.
I'm not sure.

You could go to Riverside archery in Mt. Vernon and talk to Gary. He's a good guy.  The indoor range is only 20 or 30 yds, but you can shoot a bunch of different bows. I've never felt rushed. If you can go during a week day he won't be as busy. Weekends get pretty busy at pro shops this time of year.

The archery shop in Bow also let me shoot some different bows when I was shopping.  Riverside is good too.

I took my nephew to Cabelas to test bows they didn't care how many bows we tried or if we bought anything.  Then I found a bow on a archery site from a user who just likes to upgrade a lot.

It's very important that a bow fits you . I'd suggest you make a trip down to rock creek archery and have denton set a bow up and let you shoot. a quick lesson with the right bow will make it a lot better experience . If we could get RT to shoot good anyone can ! :chuckle:
