He's a bit better this morning, he ate half a cup of kibbles and drinking water.  And has started moving around a little bit, walked in the house by himself today. Baby steps, these dogs are tough and he looks a tiny bit better today for sure.  Thanks for all the info guys.
That is great news, I hope the trend continues and he makes a full recovery.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Thanks guys, he hasn't moved for hours with a bowl of mac n cheese in front of his nose.  Can't find where he is pooping to see if it's still blood or not.  I will be with him all day so I should be able to see him poop at some time.

The vet said he was too old to get parvo, not sure if that's true or not.  He hasn't had a booster shot for parvo in years from what I can remember.

Have you given him any kind of dog food or treats made in China lately? I heard bad things about that stuff and thought most of it had been taken off the shelves. Could he have gotten into a salmon carcass and ingested some? There's also a type of algae bloom that can mess dogs up as well. Just brainstorming for ya.

There are a couple of paste type products on the market to help stimulate your dogs appetite.  They're loaded with extra vitamins and stuff to help him out, but honestly man, quit being such a cheap skate, and take your pal to the vet.  :twocents:

Just my opinion but if it where me I would be taking him back to the vet. If you wait to long it could be too late for the vet to do anything.

After the 500 dollar bill for the blood work and xrays, all they were going to do was hook him up to an IV and watch him, for 1,900 dollars.  I love the guy but I have limits when it comes to saving a 9 year old dog, I guess I could start a go fund me page, but then I'm sure there will be people who need the money more than me.  He did eat a couple spoon fulls of canned dog food about 20 minutes ago, after he walked out side and went pee.  As long as he doesn't get worse we are going to try to see if this passes. I do appreciate the advise

I think you need a new vet............... because the one you have  is questionable with that call, old dogs can get parvo just like young ones,it's an immune system attack, young dogs have weak immune systems and so do old dogs. The no booster for years, the lethargy, bloody poo and no eating all fit in line with parvo, and I'll give you one guess as to what happens with parvo, the dog get's an IV Drip. For a cheaters trick,go get a bottle or two of childrens unflavored pedialyte,it helps to rehydrate them and all the dogs I've ever used it on licked it up like it was candy.
The vet said he was too old to get parvo, not sure if that's true or not.  He hasn't had a booster shot for parvo in years from what I can remember.

Good info, thanks.  It doesn't seem to match up with him, parvo that is.  He hasn't puked since Friday and is eating very little.  His brother and him play together all the time and we have dogs from neighbors that come over a play all the time. No other dogs around us are sick, it says parvo is very contagious. He just went out and peed again and he peed a lot.

Prayers sent buddy. I know what your going through. Just lost my 12 year old Lab on Fri. :'(  He had the same symptoms and was having mini strokes when he over exerted himself. Just slept all day and stopped eating. Drinking a ton of water. His organs where failing which the vet said was causing neurological problems. He passed away in his sleep thankfully so I didn't have to put him down. I hope everything works out for you.
