It sounds like a positive report. I know it's hard seeing one of your family so sick. Please keep us posted on his progress.

Hope your bud gets better soon! I have a year and a half old lab, when/if you get to the bottom of this, please share. Info about experiences like this is good to hear for others that may go through something similar.  Good luck.

I have been following the thread.  Good news .  My 11 month old lab just went through a round of antibiotics because she got ecoli.  Vet said it is common her problem was she kept peeing all the time and did have very water poop.  She also was throwing up but only for a day.

I'm really starting to think he just ate something like rotten meat or something that just really upset his stomach.  He is much better today, not completely back, I'd say he's 60% better.  I've never been so happy to see complete diarrhea tonight, NO MORE BLOOD COLOR!! Just pure poop looking diarrhea.  Yes!! Thanks for all the comments and concerns, I will let you know when he hits 100%   It's a good day!  Also want to add, the dogs are always pulling deer and elk bones and meat from the clear cut around our house, maybe they got some bad meat.

Great news man, congratulations, I hope he continues to improve.

I thought I would treat my dog to an elk leg one year.  :bdid: That was a brutal case of river butt that I won't ever forget, lesson learned.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

That's great news Trophy!  I know with my old lab, I swear she was a goner 2 or 3 times.  She went through some crazy stuff, uterine infection, trigeminal nueritis and finally a couple tumors mixed with old age got her.  Dogs are tough SOB's!!!

So sorry to hear this but happy things are looking up.  My 7 yo FCL is moving slower and sleeping more until it's walk or beach time.  then the "lab" comes back.  I worry about her but think it's just age and experience were she picks her spots now.

No offence intended, but why are your dogs aloud to roam free and get into only Lord knows what? As far as "rotton meat" never heard of a dog getting sick from it. My gut feeling is your dog was poisoned somehow.

They roam because we live a a private neighbor hood next to woods.  1.25 acre lots, dog friendly area.  9 years and everything has been just fine up to now.

Unfortunately dogs will most likely always get into trouble that way. Hope she makes a full recovery and it doesn't happen again.

He's baaack! Yes!!! Got home and he greeted me at my car with his ball, tail waggin!  He looks 100% minus the weight he lost.  Also back to eating the dry dog food, and chasing balls!  Thanks for the support, ideas and comments!   :IBCOOL:

Watch the De-con for rodents as well.  It gets a lot of family pets.
