Schnees Granite boot?
« on: June 29, 2015, 06:51:55 PM »
Anyone have any experience with these boots?  Or any of the Schnees other than the pac boots? I'm in the process of buying new boots for this season and am looking at either the granite or absaroka (provided they fit my feet of course).  Can't decide on a mid or high upper.  I'm interested in anyone's feedback regarding Schnees.  Thanks in advance.

Im running the absarokas on the fire line this year. They're the most comfortable boot I've worn in a long time. they have a soft sole with a stiff enough shank. I hate stiff soles though but most people seem to like them.

Thanks for the information deerslyr.  Are the soles too stiff for your liking or are they pretty soft?

Stay safe on the lines!

I have the Granites, bought them last year.  Out of the box comfort, for me at least.  I hunted with them during archery elk, early muzzy deer and late muzzy elk (just tagging along with friends).  They preformed well in all seasons in all terrains.  Early season heat didn't have an effect on my comfort, just wore a lighter sock.  Late season muzzy elk had some snow and cold temps but with a thicker sock my feet were cozy.

The soles are fairly stiff but not like walking in ski boots stiff.  They have since broken in quite well all the while keeping some rigidity in the sole.

A great boot IMO but everyone has different views on what they like best.
