Chelan butte Ram (story added)
« on: July 02, 2015, 08:48:00 AM »
Went and scouted the unit yesterday, mainly just learning the lay of the land.  I did see 29 rams 2 I feel are on the hit list for now.  It was really hot and made glassing tough but I did get a few pics.  I'm very excited to get after one of these big boys.

The two rams I videos this week are beautiful.  If I don't find a bigger ram I don't care I would be thrilled with either one.  Really is hard to slept some nights thinking about it!

good looking rams, I don't think those are the biggest two on the butte though, glad to hear you got a good start.

I have seen a few ram herds up there but only find mostly smaller guys in them. The bigger boys I have spotted were usually out by themselves or in smaller groups. There are certainly some good animals up there and by the time of the hunt you should have them pinpointed. Good luck, that will be an awesome hunt. Certainly one of the envious ones!

Just got a text from a buddy over there, the Butte is on fire, Chelan side behind Slidewaters area heading up hill fast.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

I've mentioned this several times before about the Butte. A fire is the only thing that get in your way with that tag.  Hoping for the best for the herd and your tag.

As of right now. Not good. With all the structures in danger they will let the backside of the butte burn. Saving houses and people's property come first Pray for rain.

Remember  brown butt ? He was shot in the ash and retardant. Your sheep may be condensed.  Just see how it falls.good luck and let's hope everyone there is safe
