How many bears would you consider a dense population
« on: July 04, 2015, 08:38:24 AM »
I wa able to swing by my deer spot yesterday and check my cam. I have 5 different beats on cam in a 3 week period.  Would you consider this a dense population?  Not using any attractant but trace minerals.

That's more than I've heard on one cam in a while. I'd say you're good as gold for a bear tag this year. I'd find the berries in the area and concentrate on those unless the spot where your camera's at is one of the main trails to the food source in August.

I have seen 3 bears in the same draw at the same time. If there is enough of a food source around, berries, hazelnuts, apples, etc than there can be MANY MANY bears using that area. Bears usually hang around a prevelent food source, expescially when their is a fresh water source nearby. The most bear ive seen on a two day hunt is 13, in unit 105 Kelly Hill in 2005.

We saw 8 different bears in 2.5 days last year on the same ridge up high. We saw all those Bears multiple times during those days also.
