Couple my stoves need some paint.

Any points or tips before I go all in?

I repaint mine every year. Flat black 2000 deg paint.  Stove is 12 years old . Still looks like new. Pipes are all rusty thou

Well it’s most time to pull the wall tents out of the barrels and get them ready for Turkey season. If the weather would clear up.

Not going till May 1 but still little over a month away for me.

Anyone else wall tent turkey?

I still gotta put mine away from drying out from last year... Not going to make it out turkey... May take it bear hunting but I've been bringing the small pop up lately...
I love you... I really do...

Oh I am sorry to hear you won’t get out this spring. Leaving my tents home is like bird hunting and leaving the lab sitting on the porch. Unthinkable for me.

Another thing that has bothered me on line these past few months is the amount of wall tents for sale that in my opinion have not been taken very good care of from the pics.
Even worse the owners of these tents are asking new prices for some of the dirtiest tents I have ever seen.
And describe them as usually or casual wear.

Some of the tents  look like they been drug through the mud behind an atv.

I get that a lot of guys go out and buy a wall tent for hunt out of state and may never use it again. I guess that’s ok if you got money to burn. But it really hurts the resale value at least in my book to drag them around in the mud without making any attempt to keep them clean.

I bought two of my tents used. One from a buddy and one from a member here. Both were Tent Shop tents in real good shape.

My hunting partners will tell you that am annual about how my tents are handled during set up an take down. Dirt and stuff is a fact of hunting but you can save some resale value by taking a few precautions.

Here’s mine.

All my tents are laid on a clean ground cloth during set up and take down.

Everyone is instructed not to step or walk on the canvas. Foot prints are the worse.

I always use a fly over my tents to catch pitch or hot embers.

I never use paper or cedar in wood stoves.

All tent users are instructed to open zippers as high as they can comfortably reach. Guys only unzipping to head height stress zippers.

Stove flaps are solidly tied up.

Rain fly extends past the tent wall by 16 inches or more to channel water away .

Straw where available is put around outside of tent to keep drips fro splashing mud up.

Taking a little care will protect you investment and it’s value to next person.

My tent would highly disappoint you!   :chuckle:   Been rode hard and put away wet a couple times in my younger days... So it has some spots from mildew on the lower portions... The entry flaps looks like a dirty wet wipes after cleaning your hands off working all day outside without gloves... You can see the perfect imprints of where multiple spiders were squished on the inside... Some hold dear memories of my daughter almost having a heart attack... There's some burn holes... And the stove flap came lose one year in high winds and burnt up kinda irregular... So I just cut it off... Couldn't believe we didn't burn down! Left a couple inches so I can add another one on but haven't done it yet... Also got a mouse hole above the stove side near the peak... Damn thing got into my storage area and made a nest in it... I finally patched it last year after about 6 years... The last year or so I've had to file down some teeth on the zipper so would zip properly and not skip or jam up... I've never once tried to clean it... Just knock off what I can and make sure I dry it out now... Still squish spiders on it if I have too... Or anything with a stinger... But that's what I bought it for... I doubt it'll ever be for sale... Probably die still owning it... Got it from Davis tent in 2008... Their sun forged, boat shrunk canvas is unbelievable in the amount of abuse and neglect it will take... Great product!
I love you... I really do...

I doubt I will ever sell either, thinking it will be easier on my wife to sell them. My grandson might take one.

Yeah I lost a stove flap on my buddies moose hunt in Idaho. My wife made me a new Velcro one out of some canvas I had.
