A friend of mine got a Non Resident Bull tag for a highly sought after unit in Utah and is looking for an outfitter to guide him.

I know little to nothing about hunting in Utah so I thought I'd see if anyone here has had a good experience with any Utah guides.

The area is 3019 plateau, fish lake/ thousand lakes and the season is set for Aug 15 - Sept 11, 2015

Any info would be greatly appreciated and passed on.  Thanks!

Cool, thanks!  Have you hunted with them, or do you know anyone who has?

Most governor tag holders use Mossback, and the tactics they use are not very much appreciated by others hunting the areas. That is just what I've found to be the consensus on most public forums. I can imagine their cost is pretty steep as well. I have no first hand experience with mossback, but they do get some big bulls on the ground.

You could check with Bearpaw.

Dale has land in Utah for sure.
Not sure where but it would be worth checking with him. Mossback would likely cost 5 digit numbers for his services. His methods are questioned by lots of people.

I know a couple guys that have used Mossback and they were very happy and satisfied with the dedication of the spotters and guides. If Bearpaw guides for elk in Utah, hit him up. There are many positive testimonials about him from guys on this forum

This isn't one of the units that we normally guide in. I do have time available during this hunt period if you can't find another guide with time available who regularly guides this area.

Mossback will go out of their way for clients with more money and give the other clients less attention in order to get the larger tip.

What do you imagine the delta in tips are? 20% or more?

They may be a little cheaper than mossback, but they take great Bulls every year!
