Hickory self bow

Another self bow I made, this time from a store-bought piece of lumber. This one pulls 60 pounds, made for a friend of mine who wants to knock down some of those big whitetails running through his place in Ohio. It's a flatbow with a golf tee put on for a small shelf. The handle is hemp cord soaked with Titebond III. I used several different colors of Rit die to get that weird colored look and then finished with Tru-Oil.
I also found a model that can pull a 60 pound longbow.
This is where I purchased the wood. I highly recommend this kind of bow. I've made a few like this and have abused them. Haven't been able to break one yet.

I envy the patience and skill it takes to create a bow such as this from just a "store-bought piece of lumber". Wish i had your talent. Good on ya'.
