Anyone use FOBs instead of fletching?
« on: July 08, 2015, 03:16:32 PM »
Hello,

Does anyone out there have any FOBs they are looking to get rid of?  I would like to try them, but I don't want to pay any real amount for them if I instantly hate them.  I see them all over AT, but I'd rather buy it locally to cut down on shipping.

Also, if anyone has experience using these, I'd love the insight.

Thanks

Tag, just want to see if anyone has tried them and what they think.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I used them back in 08. They flew fine but would damage easy if my groupings were tight.

The positive was they pop off of the arrow while entering the deer. marking an exact hit spot.

The downside was the arrow passed through and I was never able to find it. No bright vanes to look for.  thats my  :twocents:

Tried them a few years back but went back to veins. Already passed them on so can't help you there.

I shot them a bit and liked them.  but went back to aluminum shafts and feathers.  If i was still shooting carbon I'd shoot them with a white/bright wrap.  gave mine away to a guy getting started.  he shot them well!

I appreciate all of the feedback. It sounds like most people enjoyed them, which is enough for me to pony up and spend the money on some.
