vortex bino input needed

Cabelas is having a sale on there 8.5x50 Vortex Diamondbacks. Are they worth getting or will I regret not spending the extra money and just getting the 10x42?

Unless you're planning to use them in extremely dim conditions (non shooting hours), an 8.5x50 is probably overkill. An objective lens of 50mm makes for a larger and heavier binocular than necessary in most instances. I'd prefer a 10x42 both for the extra magnification and the smaller objective lens. :twocents:
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

The 8.5x are 139.99 and I think the 10x are 229.99.

If you're on a really limited budget, get the cheaper ones now for $140, then save up and buy the Vortex Vipers next year.

You won't be happy with the Diamondbacks for very long, unless you don't use your binoculars for any serious glassing.
