Rimrock bound!!!
« on: July 16, 2015, 02:48:05 PM »
First bull draw! So stoked! Unfortunately I have never been to the unit and just a baby girl so I have been informed that can I take the whole week to hunt(rifle) but scouting is out...thinking of starting out on the south of pine grass ridge at the west side of the unit, possibly packing in. Any thoughts/advice from sympathetic dads of two daughters would be great! Can't wait either way!

My dad hunted nile, rimrock, little naches for elk for years. I also live in Spokane and could buy a tag for a spike bull. Wana pack in together? Ill split the gas with you. Havent shot or hunted for an elk for a good 10 years. WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

He'll probably be hunting the first week before spike even opens.

If it doesn't become the fire departments camp ground im rimrock bound just like every year but last,it does seem that we could get shut out from road closures or fish and feathers goes into protection mode, with how dry its going to be , we shall see ??

Ya know, that didn't even cross my mind. I haven't hunted elk for 10 years or so now. Always used vacation for bear hunting.

Hey elkrunner what area are you headed for, wondering what the valleys in 364 look like, any sign of anything green at all ?All I can think about is rain , boy this year is really got priorities messed up should be worrying about my arrow placements instead , but with every shot I wonder if im just shooting for fun or for the feezer,i finished all the turkey I had now theres just huckleberries left and those don't go well with top ramen. :bash:
