Thanks for the info.  I don't think they will try to mess with the 2nd, they get at ownership and use with taxes of monstrous proprotions on ammo and reloading components,  the 'bullet id' legislation in several states, etc.

Here is website for tracking legislation in DC...      http://www.opencongress.org/bill/all
It takes a lot of time to keep up, but we must.
It never changes, but it is always different.

Well, this may be a provocative question but....(and a little honesty here)....did anyone here vote for Mr. Obama?

A lot of people buying guns in Bellevue and Tacoma actually admit they did, and now they are stocking up figuring that they won't be available in 6 months or a year. Gun shop guys have told me that many of their new customers have been self-described Democrats.

So, it's a fair question, particularly in the wake of the American Hunters and Shooters Association's fervent pro-Obama campaign efforts.

So, did anyone here vote for Obama?  There's no wrong answer here.  I'm not going to suggest that anyone be lynched (someone else will beat me to it, I expect   :)  )

Got a reply from Mr. Inslee on this and HR 4900 yesterday. Virtually identical replies, but a better response than I got from Mayor Nickels on his proposed ban.

Thank you for contacting me again regarding protecting the second amendment. As always, I appreciate hearing from you.

I believe that Members of Congress must keep the lines of communication open between themselves and constituents.  My most important duty as your Representative is to listen to your concerns and ideas and represent your views, to the best of my abilities, in Congress.

As you know, H.R. 6257, the Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act of 2008, would reinstate the assault weapons ban for 10 years.  This bill has been referred to the House Committee on Judiciary, of which I am not a member.  Should this legislation be reintroduced in the 111th Congress, I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind.

As the 111th Congress addresses gun safety issues, I would like you to know that I believe that law-abiding adults and non felons, should have the ability to own firearms for hunting, target shooting, recreational purposes, and self-protection.  My goals during future gun safety debates will be to preserve our Second Amendment rights while keeping firearms out of the hands of criminals and untrained children.

You may also be interested to know that during the 109th Congress I voted for the Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act of 2006 (H.R. 5013). This bill would have prohibited the confiscation of legally possessed firearms during a national emergency in areas where such arms are permitted. However, H.R. 5013 was not considered by the Senate before the 109th Congress adjourned and, therefore, was not enacted into law.

Please continue to contact me about the issues that concern you, as I both need and welcome your thoughts and ideas. I encourage you to contact me via email, telephone, or fax, because security measures in the House cause delays in receiving postal mail. For more information on my activities in Congress, and for information on services that my office can provide, please visit my website at http://www.house.gov/inslee. If you would like to subscribe to my email updates, please visit http://www.house.gov/inslee/signup.htm.

Very truly yours,

JAY INSLEE
Member of Congress

I would like to ask you a question.  Fienstien has publicly stated that the happiest day of her life will be when she can"Mr and MRS  America, turn them all in."  Your choice for president has a dismal record when it comes to gun rights.  If you are told by your president and his party to turn them all in, will you.  Yes or No.  I have been in this fight since the 1960's.  We are losing.
