Wonder what side he sleeps on??? LOL
« on: July 21, 2015, 08:40:44 AM »
Found this amazing bull last night while out with the family.  Pretty sure by the end of the year he will be very happy to lose the antler.....it just can't be comfortable!!

His body was absolutely huge.  He dwarfed the little guy he was ganging with.

Wow.  Imagine somebody finding that big shed and then spending days looking for the other side  :chuckle:

It's a little knob about the size of a tennis ball.

Hate to start a debate, but he looks like a legal spike.  Not true spike.

I don't think so...not for me anyway.  I'm not taking that chance if he has nothing more on that left side

I wouldn't take the chance......but if you look at the profile pic of his antlers you will see the tennis ball nodule on his left side.

The regs are clear in stating the following:

Elk taken in these game
management units (GMUs) must have at least
one antler with no branches originating more
than four (4) inches above where the antler
attaches to the skull. An animal with a spike on
one side (1x2) is legal in spike only units. An
animal with more than one antler point more
than four inches above where the antler attaches
to the skull on both sides (2x2) is illegal.

Further,
Antler Points: To qualify as a point, an antler
point must be at least one-inch in length,
measured on the longest side.

That's a legal animal.

If it's truly a ball and I got a good look I'd dump him.
