Where can we borrow/rent a hunting firearm?

First, I'm not a American citizen but I requested the Alien Firearm license. Which gives a non-immigrant alien the right to possess firearms only if he proves it will be for hunting purpose or if he's a member of a shooting club.

@jackelope, I perfectly understand why you would not loan one of your firearm to someone you don't know.

@2labs, 594 may be a problem, like you said. Need to check it out.

@vandeman17, I'm planning to go on public land with one of my buddies which will simply accompany me (won't hunt). No outfitter

@bobcat, yes buying and reselling it is a potential option I was already considering. But with 594 it may force me to sell it back to a gun shop and obviously they won't pay the full/real cost of it since they want to do some profit. It's perfectly fine with me except if it's a ridiculous difference. I've no idea what would be the difference between the cost at purchase vs the price reselling it back to a gun shop. Does anyone could give me a rough idea?

I had a chat with some other folks and they proposed me to start archery hunt. It may actually be a good idea. I've been a crossbow hunter (moose) for 2-3 years and looking to borders importation laws on crossbows and WA rules during modern firearm season, it may be a very good idea! I'll definitely give it some thoughts.

I'd wager you'd get $250 trade in value on a $500 rifle. Trouble with that is that you'll have to buy one with a scope and sight it in also, or also purchase a scope to put on it if you want to use a  scope.

Buy a used rifle, preferably already with a scope mounted, such as the two I posted links to previously, and when you sell after hunting season you should get all, or at least most, of your money back.

Take $400 down to Cabelas and buy a Ruger American or Savage Axis with a 3x9, then to the range for a few shots.  Afterward, sell it for $350 or keep it.

I see Savage rifles I think they are model 110 sell all the time for around $300. I almost bought one, a 30-06 with a decent Redfield scope for $319 a few months ago at the Tulalip Cabelas. I didn't want to deal with selling the rifle after I peeled the scope off.

Why do some of you guys worry about I-594 so much ? That get's kinda irritating to read it and get a million internet lawyers all riled up.  It's a stupid, anti, 2 amendment law passed by liberal ass-s.

"Alien firearm license" is Washington state, it doesn't trump federal law.

CAUTION: Although state and local laws do not differ, federal law and state law on the possession of firearms differ. If you are prohibited by federal law from possessing a firearm, you may be prosecuted in federal court. A state license is not a defense to a federal prosecution.

You need an ATF 6 NIA as a non-immigrant alien

Great news I got my alien firearm license!!!

While waiting I thought about it and now I think my best choice is to buy one for myself here and not import my own from Canada. Doing so, if someday I want to hunt in Canada again while I'm a USA resident, I won't have to go through the big process at the border to bring my firearm from USA to Canada. I also have the option to sell my firearm I left in Canada and use that money to buy my new one.

I still don't know if I'll buy a brand new rifle, used one or not at all. I included the "not at all" option because my parents brought my Horton Fury Crossbow from Canada last time they came. So now I also have the option to hunt with my crossbow during firearm season. I already bought new broadheads and a target. I'm just still struggling with myself, should I buy a firearm or use my crossbow? As a brand new one, the Browning X-Bolt 30.06 is tempting me a lot!

Then they should start with ALL politicians first, to take a lie detector test, who make stupid laws like this. It does absolutely nothing in preventing criminals getting guns. Some laws are meant to be broken.
