Unit 454 help
« on: January 03, 2016, 11:10:02 AM »
I posted something similar in virtual campfire. I normally hunt the east side. I just moved to issaquah, cougar mountain. I'm wanting to nose around a bit near home. If anyone has any general suggestions, it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Most of Tiger Mountain is huntable. Taylor Mountain across highway 18 is also.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Thank you. I was looking at the topo of the hillside I live on too. There is a lot of open areas of land that I can access. I'm just unsure of the proximity regulations, even with a bow.

Everything west of highway 18 is firearm restricted.

My relatives get massive bucks in their yard in Bellevue coming off the mountain.

Excellent! I could deal with that. Like I said, looking on the topo, there's some decent benches and draws I can scout around in. I haven't been up the hill yet. We are technically issaquah but our neighbors are Bellevue.... It's weird. Got a chalet on 1.66 acres...couldn't ask for more.

If memory serves, I think that entire area has some really good benchleg bucks!   :chuckle: :chuckle:

I'm sure it has something going on. We have the same 2-5 does in our yard nearly every day. Some times they bed down. I just need to get up the hill and hike around. Haven't had a down weekend yet though. Gotta go to work just to rest!

If you're on cougar mountain just be careful that you know what is legal and what is not. I lived there for a few years, and if there wasn't private access it was restricted. Some great blacktails in that area!

I may be wrong but I think parts of Cougar Mountain are within Bellevue, Issaquah and Newcastle. Bellevue is no projectile so be careful with where you are.

I assumed that. I planned on using my bow, if needed. But my camera works equally well...

Camera hunting is just as fulfilling, and the limit is much higher!
