I never hunt for them but I did buy a rifle a few years back thinking I may .. it's a Ruger m-77 stainless in a 223 ... I think that would work!  ;) Now I just got to get out and try it!  :)

Cooper montana varminter 204 w/ 6.5-20x50 leupold LR custom 300 win w/ 5.5-22x50 nxs nightforce

Man those Coopers are sweet lookin! Do you have a synthetic or wood stock on yours?

I bought a Tikka .223 varminter last year and put a Leuy Vari XIII 3.5-10x50 on it. Unfortunately, the two times Ive gotten to go yote hunting last year, I got sick as a dog the first time. The second time, I had to come home right away because my wife got really sick. :bash: Its a tack driver at the range though :chuckle:
Now I just need to find time to make it back over to the eastside within the next month or so.

HEY Rasbo, I think I want to try it this coming weekend on the dogs, just got to see what it will do, Il bet it aint nice. I sure do love that liitle 45-70 guide gun, light, fast handling and packs one hell of a wallop. I wanted to shoot it this last sunday, but satuerday night I got a call for a poker game and then the whiskey came out, sooo my head was in no shape to hear any more loud noises. hows the leg doing, you been getting out much calling the kittys over there?
I think I might wait till the hides  aint no good.but maybe it would pass through with no big exit :dunno:leg is getting better each day, lots of pain, when I walk.the snow has risen enough I might be able to get to some walk ins for bobs I really want to nail one with  the 22mag.Called in a doe the other day thought she might kiss me,but she hadnt been drinking :yike:

I might head up tomorrow to one of the walk in areas, rasbo.  Maybe I'll see you up there.  Use some of that good advice you gave me.  Maybe get more than a doe to come running in.

Ouch!  Just for the record, my Cooper is pre-Obama!  LOL.  I have the AA+ Claro walnut stock on mine - it is almost too nice to hunt with.  Thinking of picking up a Pheonix 6.5x284 later this month.

You probably don't have any $$ left after you bought that over-priced HCR  :chuckle: :chuckle:  J/K.  How does that thing shoot?
