Nice set up 509er! What does that rig way? Is that a 22" barrel? A light weight rifle like that is looking really attractive after lugging my 11 pound tank around!

To help out with lugging my new heavy barreled Vanguard I'm gonna get one of the packs that you can slip the rifle into. . .I will use that when I'm going from stand to stand and when going from the truck or on the way back to the truck. . .it's no big deal for me to have the rifle in a pack in between stands because I usually lug the 3.5" Super Mag along with me just in case. . .that way I will have a gun handy if I need it/the opportunity presents itself. . .but I'm also already dealing with more weight right off the bat than most of you probably are. . .I can deal with the extra weight I'd rather have the extra gun for the close in stuff anyway. . .it can get pretty hairy in the brush here on the wet side!!!

Finally got a scope for my .22-250 and got it sighted in this past Sunday. . .so it's time to post some pic's. . .this is my Weatherby Vanguard Varmint Special in .22-250 (22" #3 heavy contour barrel w/recessed target crown) with a Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x42mm scope. . .it shot a .392" 3-shot group @ 100 yards and a 1.9375" 5-shot group @ 200 yards shooting cheap Winchester USA 45 gr. JHP's!!! Not bad for a "cheap" Vanguard with a non-bedded action and a non-free floating barrel and a too heavy a trigger pull!!!
. . .and my Remington 870 Super Mag 3.5" 12 ga.
. . .the next plans call for a shooting stick/bipod for both of them and a Knoxx Spec Op's stock with the Power Pack for the 870. . .with it's adjustable length of pull it will make the 870 more comfortable to shoot coyotes with a shorter LOP and then I can go back to a standard LOP while I am shooting clay pigeons or doves. . .
