How to mount sidearm to Eberlestock Team Elk pack.
« on: August 03, 2015, 09:02:00 AM »
Hey I just picked up an Eberlestock Team Elk pack. On my first run out with it this weekend I really like it except I cant find a good way to mount my sidearm.

The obvious choice was to mount it behind the buckle on the hip strap, but the gun then rests right on my abdomen because the side pockets take up so much space.. Any ideas or has anyone figured this out already?

Thanks

what sidearm are you packing? I have the same pack and just have my pistol on my belt but I have it slid around to a more forward position, ahead of my right side pocket

Some guys use a drop leg holster and I've considered trying that,  right now I'm just using a Blackhawk belt holster that I don't like very much.  I have a long enough torso and have my shoulder straps cinched up enough that the belly band rides just barely above my sidearm.

I'm using the X1A1 pack so it's pretty close to the team elk.

I have thought about a leg holster, but I will probably try it on my waist belt first and see if I can make that work.

Thanks

might be a good option too, install one on your pack and have one on the hip move back and forth as needed.

I purchased a leg holster last year specifically to get my sidearm further down my leg but it's not as snug as I'd like.

If you're looking for a good deal on a LNIB right leg holster, let me know.

I have a badlands but same situation.   a shoulder holster works great.   the gun can be in the middle of my chest, under my arm or in between.  the gun is always at the ready.  also use when fishing with waders.  mike w

Kenai holster from gunfighters inc.

I have the same pack and last year wore my pistol on the waste belt.  It worked really well as long as I took the holster as far back as possible.  The Kenai has now become a perfect / permanent solution as my pistol will be on my body even when my pack is not.
