I used to love Snickers bars as a treat while hunting but they anymore they taste too sweet to me.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I'm leaving for a 3 day backpacking trip tomorrow. I have the following:

6 Oatmeal
3 carnation instant breakfast
6 nature valley G bars
2 Packs of Homemade Jerky
4 Mountain house freeze dried meals.
Trail mix
Flask with Whiskey
Water

I think i'll be good to go. I got some fat to burn if that does not hold me.

In the NE, whenever I find an apple tree I usually waste about 20 minutes eating the sour little things.  Something about the taste of a fresh wild apple, even the sour ones I can eat a bellyful.

I'll fill a pack with those when afforded the opportunity.

I'm the guy that will steal an apple pie out of the window as it cools.   I mean come on?  Really?  Leave it in the window?    :chuckle:  Nothing like the apples you speak of...

I love those Austin Lemon Ohs pictured in the OP!  Too bad you only get two in a whole box of crappy fake Oreos >:(

If talking snacks I like - Doritos, jerky, Tillamook teriyaki sticks, Premier protein bars, Costco mixed nuts in the little tubes, dried papaya, kippers, Ritz peanut butter sandwiches and...big surprise...homemade peanut butter cookies :chuckle:  Nutter Butters will work in an emergency ;)

If it is cold enough to take a candy bar I like Payday and Dark Mars better than Snickers!  I'm with Jonathan_S, Snickers seem a little too sweet.

Ask anyone who has hunted with me, I live on snickers bars while hunting.

Crazy thing is thats the only time of year I eat them.

But he won't pass up a smoked pork chop or some spaghetti back at camp....

Snickers for sure, and it's the only time I eat them throughout the year as well.  Started also packing these small boxes of tuna salad with crackers, light and makes a good snack. Jerky and peanut butter n jelly for sure, I love it when the jelly is all smashed up after a couple days in the pack.

Trail mix, clif builder bars and some regular ones. Bagel, peanut butter, honey, bacon sandwiches, an apple or two. Sometimes jerky. Dried fruit or fruit snacks. Gotta mix it up from time to time.

I know someone who eats a ton while hunting.  One year he forgot his TP and used the wrappers!!!!

This place protected by God and Guns trespass and you might get to meet Both !
