Poll

Been awhile since we had a good dedicated blacktail thread on here. I love the pics on these threads. So for the poll question lets just stick with Washington deer that are at least a 100 inches. And post as many pics as possible.

I have shot a 3 or 4 point in that like that.
23 (17%)
I shot 2 of them like that.
13 (9.6%)
I shot 3 of them like that.
9 (6.7%)
Got 4 or more of them.
15 (11.1%)
I got at least one that scores so high the book minimum is for the small ones!
4 (3%)
I have hunted them but never got one that size.
71 (52.6%)

My 145 7/8 is net score. Gross score 149 6/8. Not quite 150 but close enough for me. And I have seen a few bucks bigger than mine from the same area. There is a great gene pool that is just not being hunted that much. Last year I was scouting this same area I watched a sow with three cubs playing, and less than 200 yards away from the bears was a monster 4X4 and a 2pt that was probably well over 24 wide and TALL.

Here's my biggest.  132 7/8" gross.  Hoping to top him this year with a bow!   :IBCOOL:

Here's the video of the hunt:

Son .. I watched that vid a few times and I just watched it again ...It still gives me goose bumps every time I watch it ....to see a blacktail like that in the summer and then return in the fall and he is still there and you kill it ..There is nothing that could beat that ...I believe an angel had something to do with it !

I don't know the score of any of these but I wanted to share. These are a few that my parents have taken over the years.

This is Clyde, so named by the folks who stopped by after my parents got him to the road. A friend of the passersby had shot at him with a 45 and put a hole in his ear. I've always been impressed by Clyde.

This next one my mom shot in 2003, only a forky but nice mass and lengths. Wider and taller than Clyde.

And this guy was shot by yours truly the next year on the opposite side of the canyon from the previous photos. Surely the same gene pool.

These next 2 are impressive because they are so gnarly at the bases and wide for the height.

Any other pics of that brute?

Sorry Link I thought responded, Sundance did a great job on the the Euro while showing me how to DIY. I haven't had it officially scored, but if I do it should make "book", want to guess?  For ref, the boy is 6'1" broad shoulders and XL mits.  Geographically well west of I5

Sure, I'll throw out a guess. Its so hard scoring from a pic, but I'd say he grosses 150 and nets about 141.
Here's my blacktail from last year. It grossed just under 140 and netted about 136.

:yeah:  Quite a bit longer tines!

I'm blown away that that deer was out walking around like nobodies buisness west of I-5 in WA.  CA and Southern OR - I could choke it down a little easier.  You gotta get that thing scored - that buck is probably cursing you from deer heaven for taking so much time to measure his massive endowment!  (plus - we want to know too.)
