High Country bear down

Went up to the Alpine for a quick morning hunt.  Started hiking around 330 AM, this guy steps out at about 550 AM and it was bear down early.  Pretty happy to have decent boar down in the high country 1st week of August.  It was a heavy pack out, around 5-6 miles solo in one trip.  Took the head and boned out meat (lost quite a bit due to shoulder shot, and part of a rear quarter with follow up shot)

didn't actually range it but around 120, follow up shot at 30 yards (he ran towards me)

In the past three years, I've taken a bull, two 4x4 whitetails, and two bears on those "quick hunts"

Ironic after striking out during deep/steep trips  :chuckle:
