Always like the name "Duke".

My last dog was named from the story of how we got him. He was at the pound on week 1. On week 2 we showed up to get him only to find him missing from the kennel he was in. We asked at the front counter. She claimed that he was so cute, she re-admitted him so he would not get put to sleep that week. She claimed he is so "Lucky" we came back to get him. So "Lucky" it was, for 18+ years.

You might also try place/names. I had a cat named WAZZU for years.

Captain, i originally named my dog Rane and then tried switching to Captain but he was already responding to the first name.

Of the six lab pups in our last litter I think the best names were Filson and benelli.

My dad's shorthair is named ruger, always liked that name.  His wirehiar is named magnum but we call her mag.  I have a wirehair and her name is chewy.  But I have always liked the name trigger.

We used Dahlia, as in black Dahlia for our little lab.  I am married to a Rose and have a Lilly and a Daisy as daughters to a little Dahlia fits right in.

My Bassett hound...we had a Flash when I grew up like the one on Dukes of hazard.  I wanted something like her, so we had a Storm and a Tornadoe.  Storm died of cancer.  T also gets her name because she has a white T on her back.  Most of the time she goes by T.

I have a Golden named Cassidy.  I have always been a big Paul Newman fan so I pulled it from "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid".
