Wolf Chases Bicyclist East of Thunder Bay

If wolves are prone to chasing bicyclists...please send some my way!!  I would rather see a wolf than a group of 20 bicyclists blocking lanes and creating driving hazards

Why are we cracking jokes about a human being persued by a wolf?   I see nothing funny about it. It could have ended very differently if the truck had not come along!

Near the Ohio border in 1803, wolves attacked two men, killing one.

Modern Times, When Wolves Are “Near Extinction”*:
In 1974-1975 wolves killed 165 dogs in Fairbanks, Alaska, which resulted in the killing of 13 wolves. After the wolves were culled, the attacks reportedly drastically dropped.
In 1996 five wolves attacked and killed 25 year old Patricia Wyman in Ontario.
In 2000 a 6 year old boy and 9 year old boy were attacked by a wolf in Icy Bay, Alaska.
In 2000, 23 year old Scott Langevin was attacked by a wolf while sleeping on Vargas Island in British Columbia.
In 2005, Kenton Carnegie was attacked and killed by wolves in northern Saskatchewan.
In 2005, Fred Desjarlais  was attacked in Saskatchewan when returning home from Key Lake.
In 2006 six people were attacked by a wolf in Ontario.
In 2010, Candice Berner was jogging in Chignik Lake, Alaska when she was attacked and killed by wolves.
In 2013, a good samaritan driver Dawn Hepp was attacked by a wolf on the side of the road in Manitoba.
In 2013, a teenager was attacked while in his sleeping bag in Minnesota. He physically pried the wolf’s jaw open to remove his head.

You're right...not a joking matter.  Bicycles are extremely hazardous.  741 people in the US died on a bicycle in 2013.  Over 7,000 deaths on bicycles in the last 10 years in the US.

They all must have been wolf-dog hybrids or very sick wolves - unable to hunt. I have been told countless times that a wild wolf will not kill a human.

the point I was trying to make is wolves do kill people, they do attack people, the do stalk people. Chances of it happening to me or anyone else are low but it does happen! The anti's like to preach that wolves don't attack people and have never killed anyone in 100 years.  I just love how you like to try and down play wolf dangers.  But the reality is it does happen and it is something to be aware of while out in the woods.  Statistically it may be more dangerous to ride a bike. Dosent mean that bikes pose more danger than wolves. Just that more people deal with bicycles on a daily basis than wolves.
