Kuiu Rangefinder Holster
« on: August 05, 2015, 06:19:03 PM »
So I finally made the jump to so high end gear this year when in comes to technical hunting clothing.  One thing that I found was there are only a couple of decent range finder holsters and none were offered in Verde.  I had the Crooked Horn Bino system with range finder holster.  So I looked at some things and came up with a work around so to say.  I don't have camera access as I am away on business but I will post some pics when I can, just thought that I would pass this on.

I looked at the fhf combo and one of the things you need to buy because it doesn't come with the system is the bungee lanyard, you have to buy it separate.

Next Kuiu doesn't have a range finder add on, what to do.

Well I took one of the Icon pouches ($9.99) and added one of fhf's long bungee lanyards (12.99).  Now I have a pouch for a belt/pack/chest combo.  For the Kuiu bino harnass, I will just use the pouches Velcro along with so additional Velcro to attach at the chest.  I plan on using some double back tape to make it a little more rigid on the inside of the stretch backing.

I think it should work well and save a little money in the process.

Would love to see some pix and your thoughts after you get that bino harness equipped with an icon pouch. I just got the harness and added the fhf pouch to it and really like it. The pouch attaches with Velcro around the harness clips (as he shows in his YouTube video) so there's no movement.  And it seems to work real well.

I just picked up some FHF gear and it's in the mail. Looking forward to trying it out but I like what I see compared to other setups.

I have a Nimrod range finder pouch attached to the side of my FHF. Its way more secure then the way FHF attaches theirs to their harness. I just bought another to go on the other side for emergency items etc.
The mountains are calling and I must go
