Quote from: Biggerhammer on August 06, 2015, 09:10:52 PMRemington 700 stainless SPS.Do you have one? What do you like about it? What do you not like? The sps is what I'm kind of leaning towards...
After I get a little more cash together I'll be buying a new rifle. It needs to be chambered for 300 win mag. I would like to spend $600-$700 but for the right rifle will go to $900... Not a penny more!I would prefer to have a synthetic stock.I would prefer to not use a detached magazine but that's not a deal killer.Stainless would be nice but not required.Would really like to have it made in America but know that's hard to come by now days.My biggest concern is accuracy obviously...I've been looking at Remington model 700 sps stainless, tikka t3 lite stainless, and tikka t3 super lite stainless. What are your thoughts, good or bad, on those? Any other recommendations.

I have one in 300wsm with a VX6 on top. For an out of the box factory gun you can not beat it. Sweet trigger. Already has the muzzle break. I sighted mine at 100 yrds after mounting the scope and haven't shot it inside 400 since. I've never been a long range shooter but banging steel at almost 800 yrds is pretty damn cool.I've been looking at Remington model 700 sps stainless, tikka t3 lite stainless, and tikka t3 super lite stainless. What are your thoughts, good or bad, on those? I have a .300 and .338 identical rifles. I see no reason to use the .300. The .338 out performs it on everything. And I much prefer the .338 for elk. Deer only the .300 is fine. The kick is identical for both and with good pad and synthetic stock theres no need for a brake.
