Help sighting in peep sight for muzzy...
«

So I have been using a peep with my factory front sight on my muzzy. Last year was my first with it and I couldn't get it sighted in all the way. At 100 yards I have it maxed out for elevation and it was still 6" low on center. I practiced and rolled with it as is last year hunting brush with close shots. I shimmed the sight after season and have not been able to practice with it yet. I shimmed it with a piece of aluminum I cut from a pop can. Should that be enough to bring it up to zero at 100 yards? or do you think it will still be low? I figured the pop can would be a cheap way to test it out and see if it works. If not I will probably have to buy an aftermarket front sight that is a different height.

Sorry about that, its 6" low. I just fixed that in the post. I had thought about filing the front sight down but not sure how to exactly since its a fiber optic and I want to keep the fiber optic.

I would go back to the original sights or get something different! I like my Williams fiber optics sights, I don't care for a peep sight but that's just me. I'm shooting inch and a half groups at 50yds and 4inch groups at 100.

I thought about that but I would rather figure something out than go back to the fire sight rear sight. My groups with the peep are twice as good as my groups with the factory rear fire sight.

If your peep sight is down as far as it will go, you will need to purchase a smaller(in height)front sight and change it out. Try Brownells to buy your new front sight. They will probably have it.
