Please explain a bit more.

This bucket trick is clean, small and silent. Mousy sniffs pnutbutter, on the rod, walks up the ramp, spins on the rod of death, falls in the water, and freezes his little mousy body. In the morning, you fling the corpse into the woods, and go hunt. Works all day, all night, no fuss, no muss...

I am always interested in new stuff though....  how does the string/stick thing work?

same thing as your bucket with water just with a little bit of bait. Just dangle the peanut butter from the stick in the center of the bucket just above the water and bam like you say. dead mouse.

I made one as a gift for the cook shack at another camp near where we muley hunt. They love the little thing!

you could just tie the string to your stick in the bucket. I just thought of something better. You could do some research for us and find out if bait really attracts more varmints. Make a new one and put them both at the same camp

That bucket is only 3/4 gallon I think. Pretty small. When they fall into four inches of water, that does them in... I think if I was to try the string trick, I may need a taller bucket....They do seem to enjoy the peanut butter....heh heh heh....

THanks for the pic Iceman.  Genius.  Now, if we could come up with something that ingenious for elk...

Back to the top for the newbies.

Rifle guys, still lots of time to build one for your camp!

How did you bow guys fare with the mouse invasion this year?
