Weird. I had all my info scanned in right at noon and selected the tag, but the screen was just blank after we hit enter.

Only person in line at Fred Meyer lake city. Gal behind counter did not have a clue. Had my info entered at 11:59. She messed up my info and had to redo, then the computer crashed. She did not call down to Olympia at first despite me telling her to. By the time she called and got off hold elk was sold out. Sold out in two mins. ........bummed

If I had stopped at Clarks first thing this morning and got my number in line I would have had my MS Elk.  Despite the State, those girls at Clark's were very efficient, they were able to get 2 Elk tags for their customers.

Just one more reason to never start a thread like this!   :bdid:   :bash: :bash: :bash:  Hard enough to get a tag without generously reminding everyone multiple times.   :twocents:    :sry:

This forum is barely a scratch on the surface of the number of hunters in this state.  Threads here had nothing to do with how fast they sold out.  Everyone got the email about it.

I would think folks in line be talking to each other while waiting and thread like this would come up, but I have not seen anyone say anything to that regard..

I agree it isn't THE reason, but I still see it as ridiculous.  That one person ahead of you in line may have been reminded here...

I dunno about your experience, but when I first searched for such a forum as this it was for finding information, having a place to talk to others who share a similar interest, and also giving back by helping others with their hunting. That's exactly what this forum provides and why its such a ritual for many of us to come on here.

 :yeah:
This thread was my reminder to get my tag. I thought I could do it on line and went on about 11:50 and figured out that I had to go to a license vendor to get it. I ran down and got there about 12:10. They said they were able to get one guy a multi season elk tag before they ran out. I did get the multi season deer and I still have a point for next years draw. Worked out good for me. Just lucky I guess!

I am all for helping people, and have given lots of advice on here.  It's just that with only 180 elk tags, and way more people than tags we're doing more harm to those who really care about it.

I am just suggesting that there is s time that helping hurts.  Kind of like when people post specific areas for elk.  I am glad for all the help people get here, but never forget anything posted here is accessible to anyone with Google.   :twocents:

You seem to be implying that without HuntWa there would not have been 180 hunters who knew about a tag sale that WDFW advertised and sent out E-mail notification of.

You give the net too much credit.

There are well more people that pick up information from this site than there are members.

If you read my earlier post I said that is not what I was implying.   However if that one person in line in front of me found out here there goes my chance.  That's all.

Haha, I didn't even try.  I've got better things to do at noon on a workday than compete for a tag that I cannot get.  If we could buy it online, that would've been a different game.

Drew Upper Smith Creek bull this year and have an Idaho tag in lieu of a mutiseason elk.  I decided I'm mostly done giving the state money for multiseason deer unless I'm bored some future year.

I'm happy for those who did though.
