My dad was always partial to Case XX and Ka Bar.

Don't see a lot of Ka Bar knives though.  In fact, other than my dad's, I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone with one.

Not one but I like & have a few below is a list of my favorite ones:

Buck
CRKT
Knives of Alaska
Silver Stag
Kershaw

Also +1 on the Leatherman, Gerber & Kershaw multi pliers contraption.  The old Leatherman Supertool has the best electrical butt connector crimper bar-none.

Buck 110 for years, loved and lost a kershaw folder. But for elk hunting, Kershaw blade trader has worked well for me. I worry about breaking it but so far it's been good to go.

Falkniven... No more needs to be said.

No stitches.  By the time I got to a medical facility, too much time had passed and they wouldn't stitch it.  Kept it closed with butterflies for a couple weeks.  Barely a scar now.

I have several different Buck knives that I use in the field.  I'm sure that there are many other great knives but I like the Buck price/quality ratio.  I also like the fact that Buck knives are made here in the northwest - Post Falls, Idaho.

What a shame. A good scar is worth the all the pain, suffering, expense, serious infections, hospitalization, permanent disability, and near death experience. :chuckle:

My favourite is the Randall Knife. I've never owned one, but we all have one:

Mine is a 1956 Ford F-100.
