Place to hang meat in SW WA?
« on: September 22, 2015, 07:55:03 PM »
Does anyone know of anywhere I can hang an elk in SW WA. I will be hunting near Woodland but live in Vancouver. The butcher I have gone to in the past allows hanging if you want to take the animal to cut it up yourself but the cost to hang it for 4 days is about half the price to just have them do all the work. I like doing it myself but most importantly I am short on cash and was hoping to save the cost of butcher. I would be willing to pay a fee if its reasonable and/or share some meat if anyone knows of a private person in the area that has a walk in cooler or anything. I am mostly thinking about if I manage to fill my tag in early muzzy season beginning of October. I would normally bite the bullet and pay for the whole process but my stepson has a cow tag for late season where we have some private property hookups and want to save the money to do what he wants with (hopefully) his first elk.
Thank you for your help.

My dad would like to build one in his garage.  Any recommendations?

Picked mine up about 12 years ago but I did not build it. Made by Norlake.  Mine measures 6W x 10L x7H.
