Ya I managed to get in there Saturday morning and pull a nice bear out.  I knew it wouldn't stay open long though.

That's awesome I tried road hunting tonight to try and switch things up haven't been seeing any bears hiking or mountain biking. What's your advice? I was up on the 5/53 road area today lots of bear sign but no sightings

Was up there this weekend didnt see any bears but deer and elk.. Do you have a pic of your bear that would be cool to see.

Got a couple pics of him.  He was a good sized bear and good color.

Ya i used the promos coyote bear buster.  Of course I don't mind bear or cat or coyote harvested is countless deer and elk spared and saved.  But i brought my wife and son up there saturday and got up there late (1030) or so and went up higher where I thought bears may be finding feed due to the extreme heat and low moisture.  I went to the first spot where I have been in the past and thought would be great bear area.  I literally blew the call for one session (30 secs or so) and immediately heard rustling beneath me about 20 yards and thought it was a deer walking away from my call as they normally do.  I noticed the rustling continued toward me so i did another short session of calling and he came out at about 25 yards and I made sure it was a decent bear and no cubs.  I wish I had my bow with my go pro i just did not expect to get one that close.

Ya I don't understand why Vail can stay open why can't hancock? Hancock closes for elk too while you can hunt vail for elk. Grass is looking greener over there!
