Guess lucky for me I cannot get up early, and always run late.

Was everyone more than 1.5 hours before sunrise? If so, think everyone is out of luck technically. But it is very predatory on Kapowsins part. I would say outright ass-a-holic.

Does anyone know what the hunter and Hancock relationship is like? Is this a rogue act by some guy trying to show his value that lacks humility, or is this how the company wants to treat hunters?

I would say the hunters are keeping an eye on a lot for Hancock. I once tipped off Hancock that some homeless had a camp going and gave the GPS coordinates.

A long list of "extra mile" things hunters have done for Hancock would be easy to create... and this is Hancocks "extra mile" for hunters?

Technically Hancock is correct if people where there more than 1.5 hours before sunrise, but it isn't good business at all on Hancocks part. I do notice they didn't sell all the Kapowsin passes this year... Noting a persons pass # and saying "don't do that again" is more appropriate. Isn't like the pass cost $20 or something.

Guess that time I gave a work crew (not sure who the were directions) and that time I let a crew or two out... should have just said "sucks for you, call Hancock".

Just not good sportsmanship, two wrongs don't make a right.

Oh another thing, they made us go out the king creek gate so we wouldn't go back and tell other guys not to go in.

We can all try to change this BS this Clyde guy pulls by emAiling on the Kapowsin Hancock website and let them know how there's no where near enough time to get back to where we want to go. Especially with a line of trucks. It's no wonder why guys are going 40 around blind corners.

I would have said no, since I have no idea where the king creek gate is. "Sorry I don't drive crappy logging roads I don't know in the dark, you will have to let me turn around or drive in front of me as an escort".

So you say you went in 1 1/2 hours before "shooting light which is legally at 6:50."

But doesn't the rule say 1 1/2 hours before sunrise? If so, you went in 30 minutes early.

Not saying I agree with them pulling your permit for that. A warning for a first time offense seems more reasonable.

But it does sound like you were in fact going in early if you were going by legal hunting time instead of sunrise.

Sucks the way things wete handled with losing the permits, but it sure sends a message not to go in early.  Not seeing how it is a trap since no one enticed anyone to drive through the gate early.

I always wondered if someone would get nailed when you can see headlights up in the hills several hours after "get out" time no where near any of the work sites.

Clyde is a pretty square guy, I was parked at the tracks with my daughter and when I got back Clydeleft a note on my window to check my map, iI have the lynch creek pass and I find out I was huntn the kapowsin unit, I grew up huntn those tracks, my dad took me down those tracks the first time in 3 rd grade, I thought for sure it was the lynch creek side, he was well within his rights to yank my permit but he didn't, he let me off with a warning.. as far as the time restrictions I am guessing that the offenders have been warned, Clyde keeps a log of guys he has warned, I made a dumb mistake and he didn't hammer me for it.. I am also guessing the offenders were probably jerks, like mouthing off or what not.. but I am just guessing.. it was by far the slowest I ha e ever seen an extended buck in there, my thoughts are the weather was not conducive to hunting the gray ghost!!!

Old Clyde, there's a name I haven't heard in a very long time. I've known him for over 15 years, remember him as being a pretty square guy.

Saw him this weekend at Lynch creek gate, when ever I see him I stop and BS with him a little bit. I definitely don't kiss his ass or anything, but I figure if I ever have an issue at least I've talked with him and he knows who my kid is too. Don't want any special treatment, and I follow thier rules, but you never know when something might come up the it helps you out if you've been friendly to the guy.

I would do the same. I definitely don't kiss ass either, but it didn't help me when it came to taking my permit. However I am getting my permit back Monday morning (sorry 2labs), spoke with division manager today he was cool guy actually. He said they are for sure going to be reviewing this rule and trying to change it so we can go in earlier for next year I gave him lots of input that people on this site have posted as well as people that I know from around town. I would be really surprised if they don't change the rule next year the way he was talking. So maybe something good will come out of it.
