I think I screwed up..
« on: August 17, 2015, 10:45:57 AM »
After much work I finally got my bow sighted in. I could not figure out why I was having such difficulty to begin with. My bow has been on for years. I am not the kind of guy to get a new bow every year, One because I cannot afford to and two my bow kills just fine. Parker hunter mag. About 12 years old..
Back to the trouble.- It hit me as I was sitting in the back yard having a cold one. Damn , My glasses. That's why I had trouble. That's why everything was different.
Here is the problem. I do wear my glasses everyday but my eyes are not that bad really. I hunt without them and see just fine. I hunt without them because They get foggy when I hike and it irritates me to no end. I still see animals before other people so all is good in that department.
I guess now I have to go back and re-sight my bow and shoot with no glasses. :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:
If its brown knock it down

Get Lasik and you will never have an issue.  I hated glasses while trying to hunt
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...

I've been shooting both ways this year, with and w/o glasses.  I hate shooting with the glasses but can't hardly read a map without them any more.  Luckily, it seems I can hit the same spot either way.

I'm near sighted something fierce.  Can target well at 50 yards but lose my arrows at 30 yards.  I have trouble picking out animals at long distance, but my glasses make my pins look like christmas tree lights, so i can't shoot with them.  It's going to be a really weird thing for me this year.  I've considered lasik a lot more since i figured that out.

I'm trying contacts this year, dealt with fogging glasses too much in the past

I have the same problem.   My pins become blurry if I do not have my glasses during low light and the red fiber optic color.  I have looked at the Lasik but I am not sure that would fix much.  Wearing cheaters while hiking get all fogged up.

This is also sounding familiar to me.  My vision used to be far better than 20/20 but it has gone down hill recently.  The red fiber optic is the worst - rather than seeing a single pin I see 2 (one on top of the other with a less distinct red blur between then).  Trying to figure out which of those pins is the real one can be a challenge.  I tried wearing glasses, which sharpen things at a distance but make them way blurrier close up (the sight pins).  Sucks getting old. :P
